As an important filtering material, microporous membrane has various significant filtration characteristics. The following are the main filtration characteristics of microporous membranes:

1. Small and uniform aperture

Pore size range: The pore size of microporous membranes is generally between 0.1-1 microns, which is small and uniform, allowing them to efficiently trap particles and substances in liquids or gases.

Strong interception ability: Due to its small and uniform pore size, the microporous membrane has a very strong interception ability for suspended solids, bacteria, some viruses, and large-sized colloids, with high filtration accuracy.

2. Light and thin texture with high porosity

Physical characteristics: Microporous filter membranes are usually light and thin in texture, with a thickness much smaller than ordinary filter media, which is beneficial for accelerating filtration speed.

High porosity: The porosity of microporous membranes is generally above 70%, which means that the resistance of the liquid passing through the membrane is low and the filtration rate is fast. Compared with other filtering media with the same retention index, the filtration speed can be several times or even tens of times faster.

3. High filtration efficiency

Efficiency: Due to its small pore size, high porosity, and thin membrane thickness, microporous membranes can quickly separate target substances during the filtration process, improving work efficiency.

High separation accuracy: The high-precision filtration capacity of microporous membranes makes them excellent in situations where high-purity filtrate is required.

4. Good stability

Chemical stability: Some types of microporous membranes, such as polyether sulfone membranes, have good chemical stability and can withstand the erosion of various chemicals and solvents.

Physical stability: The microporous membrane is not easily deformed or broken during the filtration process, and can maintain stable filtration performance.

5. Low adsorption capacity, no retention of drug solution

Low adsorption capacity: The microporous membrane has low adsorption capacity, which can reduce the adsorption and retention of the liquid during the filtration process, thereby maintaining the purity and concentration of the liquid.

6. No medium detachment to avoid secondary pollution

Continuous whole: The microporous membrane is a continuous whole structure, and there is no medium shedding phenomenon during the filtration process, avoiding the risk of medium falling into the material and causing pollution.

7. Widely applicable

Industry applications: Microporous filter membranes are widely used in various fields such as pharmaceuticals, biochemistry, food and beverage, electronics, and more. In the pharmaceutical industry, microporous membranes are commonly used for sterilization filtration of injections and clarification filtration of drug solutions.

Micro porous membranes are highly favored for their unique pore size structure, efficient filtration performance, good stability, and wide range of applications. In various situations that require high-precision filtration, microporous membranes play an irreplaceable role.
