The maintenance and cleaning methods of titanium rod filter mainly include the following:

1、 Clear water backwash and gas blowback

Clear water backwash:

Operation method: For newly used or slightly clogged filter cartridges, clean them by backwashing with clean water. Use water slightly above the working pressure (such as 0.3MPa) to inject water from the opposite direction of the filter element for cleaning.

Time control: The recoil time is generally about 1-3 minutes, and the specific time can be adjusted according to the degree of blockage of the filter element.

Effect: This method can effectively remove some impurities and blockages on the surface of the filter element, restoring the filtering ability of the filter element.

Gas blowback:

Operation method: On the basis of backwashing with clean water, gas (such as compressed air) can be used for backwashing to further remove residual impurities inside the filter element.

Attention: During the gas blowback process, ensure that the gas pressure is moderate to avoid damage to the filter element caused by excessive pressure.

2、 Chemical cleaning

Acid washing:

Applicable situation: When the backwashing of clean water and gas cannot effectively restore the filtering ability of the filter element, acid washing can be used.

Cleaning solution selection: Generally, soak the filter element in hydrochloric acid solution with a concentration of less than 5%, nitric acid solution with a concentration of less than 5%, or sulfuric acid solution with a concentration of less than 8% at room temperature.

Operation steps: Soak the filter element in the cleaning solution for a certain period of time (such as more than 8 hours), and then rinse it with clean water.

Attention: When choosing a cleaning solution, the nature of impurities in the filtrate should be considered, and impurities that are easily soluble in the cleaning solution should be selected for cleaning. Meanwhile, attention should be paid to the safety and environmental friendliness of the cleaning solution.

Alkali washing:

Applicable situation: It is also suitable for filter cartridges that cannot be restored by water backwashing and gas blowback.

Cleaning solution selection: Generally, 3-5% sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution is used for cleaning.

Operation steps: Soak the filter element in the cleaning solution for 30-60 minutes, and control the temperature at around 40 degrees for better results. After soaking, rinse inside and outside with filtered deionized water or injection water until neutral, and measure the conductivity. Afterwards, blow dry with pure air at a pressure of ≥ 0.4MPa.

Attention: Similar to acid washing, when selecting cleaning solution, the nature of impurities and safety and environmental protection should be considered.

3、 Daily maintenance

Avoid scratches and collisions: During use, the filter element should be protected from physical damage such as scratches and collisions.

Control working pressure: Ensure that the working pressure of the filter element does not exceed its rated working pressure range.

Low pressure start-up: During normal use, there should be a 3-5 minute low pressure start-up time to reduce the instantaneous impact load on the filter element.

Regular inspection and replacement: Regularly check the filtering effect and blockage of the filter element. If the filter element is deformed, damaged, or the filtering effect is significantly reduced, it should be replaced in a timely manner.

The above maintenance and cleaning methods can effectively extend the service life of titanium rod filter cartridges and maintain their good filtration performance.
