Polyester (PET)
Characteristics: Highly affected by steam hydrolysis or rising water temperature, especially susceptible to damage in alkaline environments.
Application: Suitable for filtration under dry conditions, temperature should not exceed its tolerance range.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
Advantages: It has excellent thermal stability, chemical stability, insulation, lubricity, and water resistance. High temperature resistance, wide range of operating temperatures, corrosion resistance, and good self-lubricating properties.
Application: Widely used in industrial dust removal, precision filtration and other fields, such as PTFE membrane filter material can achieve surface filtration and improve filtration efficiency.
Polyether sulfone (PES)
Advantages: Excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength.
Application: Widely used in various fields such as water filtration, air purification, industry, medical and food processing.
glass fibre
Advantages: High temperature resistance, good dimensional stability, high tensile fracture strength, and chemical resistance (except for hydrofluoric acid and high-temperature strong alkali).
Disadvantages: Poor folding resistance, generally not used in oscillation or pulse systems.
Natural materials
Quartz sand, vermiculite, zeolite, etc. have their own unique physical and chemical properties, suitable for water treatment and filtration needs in different fields.
2、 Considerations for selecting filter material materials
Filtering efficiency: Select materials with appropriate filtering accuracy and efficiency according to application requirements.
Chemical resistance: Consider the chemical composition of the filter medium and choose materials that can work stably.
High temperature resistance: Select suitable high temperature resistant materials according to the working temperature range.
Mechanical strength: Ensure that the selected material has sufficient mechanical strength to withstand working pressure and impact.
Service life: Considering the stability and durability of the material, choose materials that can maintain filtering performance for a long time.
Cleaning regenerability: Evaluate the ease of cleaning and regeneration ability of materials to reduce maintenance costs.
Cost effectiveness: Taking into account the cost, performance, and application requirements of materials, choose materials with high cost-effectiveness.
3、 Summary
When selecting the material of the filter material, multiple factors need to be considered comprehensively to ensure that the selected material can meet the application requirements and achieve the expected filtering effect. Meanwhile, it is recommended to conduct experiments and validations based on specific application scenarios and conditions to determine the most suitable filter material material.
