When choosing a filter element for filtration, multiple factors need to be considered to ensure that the selected filter element can meet actual needs and have good filtration effect. Here are some key selection points:

1、 Clearly define filtering requirements

Filter media: Firstly, clarify whether it is filtering liquids or gases, as well as the properties of the media such as temperature, pressure, chemical composition, etc.

Filtering accuracy: Determine the required filtering accuracy based on the filtering requirements, that is, the size of impurity particles that the filter element can intercept. For example, sterilization generally uses filter cartridges with an absolute precision of 0.2 μ m; To remove visible particles, a filter element with a relative accuracy of 10-20 μ m can be selected.

2、 Consider the material and performance of the filter element

Material selection: There are various types of filter materials, such as stainless steel, copper, titanium, plastic, ceramics, alloys, etc. Different materials have different characteristics, such as stainless steel filter cartridges that are resistant to high temperatures, corrosion, and high pressures, making them suitable for use in harsh environments.

Chemical stability: Choose materials with good chemical stability for the filter medium to ensure that the filter element will not react with the medium during use, affecting the filtration effect or filter element life.

Temperature resistance: Select the appropriate filter element material based on the temperature of the filter medium. The maximum working temperature of different filter materials varies, for example, stainless steel folding filter can reach 200 ℃, and titanium sintered filter can reach 280 ℃.

Corrosion resistance: For media with strong corrosiveness, filter materials with good corrosion resistance, such as stainless steel, titanium, etc., should be selected.

3、 Pay attention to filter cartridge types and specifications

Filter type: Common filter types include PP cotton filter, activated carbon filter, ultrafiltration filter, reverse osmosis filter, etc. Each type of filter element has different filtering effects and applicable ranges. For example, PP cotton filter element is suitable for filtering small particles and impurities in water, while activated carbon filter element is suitable for removing odors and residual chlorine.

Specification and size: Ensure that the selected filter element is compatible with the existing filtration system, including interface size, connection method, etc. In addition, it is necessary to consider the flux of the filter element, that is, its filtration capacity. If the flux is too high, it will lead to a decrease in filtration accuracy, while if the flux is too low, it may not be able to meet production needs.

4、 Consider other factors

Qualification of production enterprises: Choose production enterprises with production qualifications and good reputation, whose product quality is usually more guaranteed.

Product certification: Pay attention to whether the filter element has passed relevant certifications, such as ISO 9001 quality management system certification, FDA food safety certification, etc., to ensure that the selected filter element meets relevant standards and regulatory requirements.

After sales maintenance cost: Understand the replacement cycle, replacement cost, and after-sales service situation of the filter element, so as to obtain timely support and maintenance during use.

Above, when choosing a filter element for filtration, multiple factors need to be considered comprehensively to ensure that the selected filter element can meet actual needs and have good filtration effect.
