Filter cartridges and screens are important filtering elements in fields such as water purification and air purification, but there are significant differences between them. The following is a detailed explanation of the differences between the two and the steps for replacing the filter:

The difference between filter element and filter screen

Material and Structure:

Filter element: usually made of various materials such as coconut shell charcoal, ceramics, activated carbon, PP cotton, etc. According to the different materials and structures, filter cartridges can be divided into various types, such as HEPA filters, activated carbon filters, etc.

Filter: Made of different mesh materials such as stainless steel, copper, iron, plastic, etc. Filters are relatively simple in design and structure, and are typically used to filter larger particulate matter.

Filtering effect:

Filter cartridge: Due to the use of multiple materials and complex structural design, the filtering effect of the filter cartridge is usually better than that of the filter mesh. They can remove smaller particles and harmful substances such as bacteria, scale, odors, etc.

Filter: mainly used to filter larger particles such as sand, sludge, etc. In terms of filtration effect, the filter screen is relatively simple and direct.

Application areas:

Filter element: widely used in water purifiers, air purifiers and other equipment to remove harmful substances in water and particulate matter, odors, etc. in the air.

Filter: Commonly used in air conditioners, range hoods, and other equipment to filter dust and impurities in the air and protect internal components of the equipment.

How to replace the filter screen

The specific steps for replacing the filter may vary depending on the type and brand of equipment, but the following are general guidance steps:

Shut down the equipment: Before replacing the filter, first turn off the power of the equipment or close the relevant valves to ensure that the equipment is in a safe state.

Find the position of the filter: According to the device's user manual or relevant guidance, locate the position of the filter. The filter is usually located at the inlet or outlet of the equipment.

Remove the old filter: Gently remove the old filter. During the disassembly process, be careful not to apply excessive force to avoid damaging the filter or other components of the equipment.

Clean the filter frame: If there is dust or dirt on the filter frame, you can use a soft cloth to wipe or clean it with water, and then air dry it.

Install new filter: Place the new filter into the filter frame to ensure a secure installation. Pay attention to the direction and position of the filter, and operate according to the equipment manual or instructions.

Reinstall the filter frame: Insert the filter frame back into the device, ensuring it is inserted correctly and securely fixed.

Turn on the device: After replacing the filter, turn on the power or valve of the device again and test its operation.

Please note that when replacing the filter, it is necessary to follow the equipment manual or relevant instructions to ensure correct and safe operation. At the same time, regularly replacing the filter screen is the key to ensuring the normal operation and filtration effect of the equipment.
