PP material filter element, also known as polypropylene filter element, is a widely used filter element in various fields such as water purification, food and beverage, industrial water treatment, etc. Its characteristics can be analyzed in detail from the following aspects:


1、 Material characteristics


Non toxic and odorless: The PP filter element is made of non-toxic and odorless polypropylene (PP) as raw material, ensuring the safety of the filter element during use and preventing secondary pollution of the filtered liquid.


Chemical stability: Polypropylene material has good chemical stability and can withstand corrosion and erosion from various chemical substances, including strong acids, strong bases (but it should be noted that it may not be suitable in extreme strong acid and strong base environments), as well as various organic solvents (except for chlorosulfonic acid, concentrated nitric acid, and strong oxidants).


2、 Filtering performance


Efficient filtration: PP filter element has a deep filtration structure with uniform pore size, outer sparse and inner dense, which can effectively remove suspended solids, particles, rust and other impurities in the liquid. Its filtering accuracy range is wide, generally ranging from 0.5 μ m to 100 μ m, and can be selected according to specific application scenarios and filtering requirements.


Strong pollutant absorption capacity: The double-layer fiber structure of the PP filter element allows it to accommodate larger particle impurities while blocking small particles, ensuring filtration accuracy and pollutant absorption capacity.


Large filtration flow rate: The fiber diameter of the filter element is relatively fine, with a high porosity and an average porosity of ≥ 75%. This results in a large filtration flow rate and small pressure difference, reducing equipment energy consumption.


3、 Physical performance


Heat resistance: Polypropylene material has a certain degree of heat resistance, but it should be noted that its high temperature resistance is poor. Generally, it can only be used in environments below 60 ℃ and is not suitable for high temperature environments.


Mechanical strength: PP filter element has good mechanical strength, can withstand certain pressure and impact, and is not easily damaged.


4、 Economy and Maintenance


Low cost: Compared to other filtering materials, PP filter cartridges have a lower price, which can reduce production costs and improve economic efficiency.


Easy to replace and clean: The structure of PP filter element is simple, easy to replace and clean, which can reduce the cost and time of maintenance and replacement.


5、 Application Fields


PP filter cartridges have been widely used in various fields due to their excellent filtration performance, chemical stability, and economy. Including but not limited to:


Drinking water treatment: Used for pre-treatment of drinking water in homes, schools, hospitals, and other places, effectively removing suspended particles, sediment, rust, and other impurities from the water.


Industrial water treatment: used in industries such as electronics, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals for pre-treatment and circulating water treatment of process water, ensuring that water quality meets production needs.


Agricultural irrigation: Remove sediment and impurities from water to ensure irrigation water quality.


Desalination: As a pre-treatment filter element in seawater desalination systems, it removes suspended solids and particles from seawater.


Food and beverage: used in the terminal filtration process of mineral water, purified water, etc., to ensure the safety and hygiene of water quality.
